July Meeting 2021

Joe Bowden came to Augusta in 1962 as a freshman medical student. After graduation he decided on a career in surgery and completed that training in 1971. While a surgical resident he was invited to play at the Augusta National in 1969. From that experience Joe met and became friends over time with many of the club’s caddys, golf professionals and staff. It also began a five decades love affair with the Masters Tournament, which he has been privileged to attend for 56 consecutive years. That string although broken by the pandemic has not changed his passion for that iconic event and all the fascinating things that have to happen to make it the number one golf tournament in the world.
